Cricket is really quite a simple game. You have two
sides: one out in the field and the other in. Each man on the side that's in
goes out in turn to have his innings. This he has had when he is out, and then
he comes in, and the next man in goes out until he's out. Then when all that
have been in are out, that ends the innings, and the side that's out in the
field comes in, and the side that's been in goes out, and tries to get those
coming in, out. Sometimes, of course, you get men who are officially in but are
out since the rest of the team which is in are out. These men are "not-out".
The game ends when both sides have been in and out including the
not-outs.
