The Falkirk Wheel

A view of the Falkirk Wheel
In the foreground is the water of the Forth Clyde Canal with a conventional lock to get barges and other small boats up to level of the entrace into the Wheel.
Beside the Wheel are the Visitor Centre and Cafe with a sloping glass wall/roof which allows visibility of the entire cycle of the Wheel.

Views up and down the Forth Clyde Canal.

A small boat can be seen in the lower section of the Wheel waiting to be lifted up to the Union Canal.

A side view of the same boat as it is being lifted up.

The Wheel turning round, lifting the boat up and at the same time bringing another one down.
