Fife has always had involvement with Motorsport. From early days of Motorcycle, sand racing on the beach at St Andrews and road racing at Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy, to Go-Kart racing at the old Crail Aerodrome.
There has been Stock Car Racing at Central Park, the home ground of Cowdenbeath FC since 1963. Last year, 2003, the Racewall at Cowdenbeath was the venue for the Saloon Stockcar World Championship. An excellent race with the lead frequently changing and lots of good hard racing. It was only in the last few laps that the eventual winner hit the front.

Knockhill Racetrack, out in the hills to the north of Dunfermline, is now a major British Racing venue.
As well as the usual range of car, bike and kart racing, stock cars use a small part of the circuit around the fearsome hairpin corner.
