Sport in New York

The Giants Stadium out at Meadowlands, New Jersey. The stadium is shared by the New York Giants and the New York Jets, American Football teams. It is also the venue for football games, Manchester United have played there, and pop concerts.

At the Giants Stadium for a game between the New York Giants and the Jacksonvill Jaguars.
Not a brilliant game but a great finish with the Jets scoring a winning touchdown with 4 seconds on the clock.

The half-time entertainment was provide by schoolboy teams. In this game the blue team was about half the size of their opponents and scored the first touchdown when their quarterback threw a great pass, but then the bigger team got their running game going.



Shea Stadium, home of the New York Mets.
This was the stadium where the Beatles performed on their first tour of the States.



Yankee Stadium, the home of the New York Yankees baseball team, the most successful team in the USA. Famous Yankees players are Joe DeMaggio, husband of Marilyn Monroe and the legendary Babe Ruth.

The home of other Yankees baseball team, Staten Island Yankees, a feeder team for the New York Yankees.
An ideal place to sit and watch the world go by on a warm summers day with all the ships are going into New Jersey and up the River Hudson. The waterway is busier than some of the streets in Dunfermline. Unfortunately when we were there it was mid-winter.


Maddison Square Gardens where the New York Knicks play.
It's quite a place. We had come up four floors to this point.
